Controls Engineer

You will be familiar with our product ranges which are primarily used by customers in the production of sausage and meat products, however, our aspirations reach way beyond our current products and services, and appeal to our natural curiosity to improve what we do.

About the role: 

  • Manage Facility Control Systems (DCS) including networking and infrastructure.  
  • Design Manufacturing Automation and Process Control Systems, including software and graphical (HMI) solutions. 
  • Maintain all manufacturing controls infrastructure, including networks, hardware software and improvements / changes. 
  • Solve day to day production and maintenance issues, as necessary. Typical examples can be control system issues that maintenance cannot resolve or operations requiring a process change that moves our process controls outside the current boundaries.  
  • Improve the security of our currently installed base system and plan for future upgrades to keep our systems as current as practically possible. 

About you: 

  • Experience: 10+ Years of Factory Automation systems design, including networking, software design and creation, HMI systems implementation and support. 10+ years in a continuous manufacturing environment, preferably food or drink manufacturing, supporting and leading manufacturing and maintenance activities. Experienced in Hardened Industrial Ethernet networking on large scale implementations (1,000+ devices). Experienced in managing and dealing with specialist consultants, technicians and contractors. 
  • Skills: Minimum BSEE, preferably Masters level education. Needs to be extremely creative, flexible self-motivated. 
  • Knowledge: Rockwell Automation Plant PAX system. Emerson DeltaV DCS system. Knowledgeable of all applicable local and International Electrical Codes. (NFPA, IEEE etc.)
