Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, testing, support and development of automated control systems required within the manufacturing process of the company.
  • Development and support of SCADA systems on the site.
  • Personal project responsibilities for design of electrical systems, programming of PLC and HMI, site supervision, etc.
  • Responsible for the management and development of the existing software revision control within the department.
  • Manage any external contractors that are utilised both on and off site during project life cycles to ensure that they are working to timescales, budgets and design criteria.
  • Responsible for the management of the departmental revenue budget ensuring that it is controlled to the financial plan.
  • Assist R&D team in daily work and support project advancement according to company arrangement

About You:

  • Preferably educated to minimum of degree level or completion of a recognised Electrical apprenticeship with relevant experience thereafter.
  • Must have an understanding of the following types of PLC and HMI equipment:

Siemens S7-300 PLC range
Siemens TP HMI series
Mitsubishi Q series, Ans series and FX ranges of PLC’s
Mitsubishi servo drives
Bejeirs HMI E range

  • A good foundation in process fault finding and troubleshooting is required especially within a high volume production environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure to minimise production losses and downtime.
  • A practical understanding of field bus technologies, how and where they are used.
