About the role:

As the Quality Manager, you will champion a quality-focused culture that supports effective decision making to minimise food safety risk and meet or exceed customer product performance expectations. Manage the BCP plan and the Integrated Management Systems for Devro BV

You will lead by example in the area of Quality, encourage safe behaviors and support the Quality policies and objectives of the company

Work with the Operations team to continuously improve quality standards and reduce the level of internal quality losses, customer complaints and the overall cost of poor quality. Work with the Technical Engineering and Product Development teams to ensure capable processes and products

Liaise with the Group Regulatory Affairs Manager to ensure the Devro BV business remains compliant with regulatory and legislative changes

Manage third party accreditations and customer approvals to ensure continuity of supply; help coordinate monthly and annual review meetings for the senior management team. Co-ordinate the activities and improvement plans generated

Manage customer complaints and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive action is taken to minimise the risk to the business and to prevent a reoccurrence

Assist in the development of a long-term quality strategy for the business. Participate in Group review meetings and Group projects to support quality improvement initiatives across the various Devro entities

Be an active member of the Food Safety/HACCP Team, Manage the Quality Department budget & Manage the QMS System (document control, NCR management, etc.)

Develop the skills and capabilities of Devro BV staff through the effective use of the employee performance and development framework.

Manage cross functional quality-related projects to ensure all participants adhere to agreed activities and timescales.

About you:


“A change agent maker” The ability to challenge existing practices and propose and implement alternative approaches to managing quality

Excellent interpersonal skills to enable good communication across all levels and disciplines

Good organisational skills and responsive to urgent customer needs


Degree qualified in a science/food science or quality related discipline supported by a minimum of 5 years quality management experience in a food/drink or similar process environment with a proven record of achievement

Familiar with current food safety and quality system standards. Qualified in Quality Assurance Management or equivalent


Experience of managing quality within a 24/7, continuous high speed manufacturing environment

An understanding of process and product capability supported by sound SPC and decision making
